Culinary delight

Spanish and Portuguese traders first brought the orange tree to the Mediterranean in the 15th century. Shortly thereafter, the sweet orange was found to be an edible fruit. At that time it was a very luxurious item which the extremely wealthy grew in their fabulous private orangeries. Only in around 1646 did the orange become known throughout Europe. Since the orange is still incredibly popular, we have commissioned four delicious recipes using oranges especially for this issue. A culinary feast for the eye to present on a stylishly laid table.
