Flowergirl

Hélène: “The relationship between my working life and flowers is fairly recent. I believe that my passion for objects and mainly for vases drew me closer to flowers. When I think of it, I’ve always been surrounded by flowers and nature. During my childhood I grew up in a house with a garden and near to a large forest. So me and my sister spent our all free time outside. My love for plants I think I inhereted from my mother. She’s a real nature lover. She could spend her whole life in her garden to take care of her plants and flowers. This passion she passed on to me. Our home was filled with lucious bouquets and lots of plants. There’s a drawing of a bouquet in a vase I made for her twenty years ago, in her bedroom. When I was a little girl, flowers were all around. I loved dresses with flowerprints, shirts with floral embroidery and headbands with flowers. On my date of birth (25 April) we always celebrate the Dianthus Revolution, as my father is Portuguese. And every March we celebrated the lovely Daffodil; we filled our baskets with large freshly picked bouquets during a hike in the woods. You could say that flowers are a happy constant in my life_______.”

Les Fleurs

“Quand je cherche un sens À ma longue errance
Que rien ne me soulage
Rien ne me séduit
Je pense aux fleurs
Qui sont parfaites
Qui n’ont pas d’autre rôle que de l’être
Je pense aux fleurs
Et c’est bête
Mais j’envie leur beauté muette...”

Song and lyrics by Clara Luciani
