#12 Green SanctuaryEditorial

Green sanctuary

We want to feel cherished by nature and at ease in our own private jungle. Like going back to the peaceful womb in this era of stress and chaos. We’re longing for luxury indoor gardens, grown like sacred green sanctuaries for our wandering souls. Providing a save heaven for our family. As the Dalai Lama said: “The world does not need more successful people. The planet needs more peacemakers, healers, restorers and lovers of all kind. It needs people to live well in their places, willing to make the world habitable and humane.”

Prescribing nature, the homes of Yves Saint Laurent, Sera of London and Satoshi Kawamoto in this issue are the perfect green cocoon. Plants are no longer small but seductive, huge and tall, almost like in-house trees, providing shelter and healthy clean air. Imagine grotesque greenery, haute bohemians in a painterly vision, vases with double ears, jugs, terracotta, goblets, plants and pots on stands, headplanters and bumvases. This issue is like a green sanctuary, a way to reconnect with nature.

Research has proven that spending time around trees (even filling your home with house plants) is good preventative medicine, since it lowers stress. Shinrin-Yoku or forest bathing is the practice of spending time in nature for better health, happiness and a sense of calm. A pillar of Japanese culture for decades. Don’t we all need some green spiritual goodness? Join us on our green crusade. A holy experience for wellbeing, exposed to uplifting terracotta and the ‘pheromones’ of plants. Because where nature is set to be strong and immense, (wo)man dare to be humble and vulnerable_______.
